Part Of Abidin Kurt's Story
"I was born in Dalyan, a tiny village nestling under the Lycian of Caunus, opposite of Dalyan, in 1952. At that time these small villages had no electricity, no drainage, no roads. We used kerosene lamps, brought water from the well along dusty paths. Most of our foods were based on homegrown products: milk for yoghurt, cheese, butter, draining in muslin bags on the terraces of our houses; corn for bread; olive oil for cooking and making soap; fruits and vegetables; fish from the river and sea. There was little medicine and we were poor. I was 14 when I watched my mother die of appendicitis.
That year, having finished school in Dalyan I started as an apprentice in archaeology at Caunus, where I worked for 3 summers, At 17 I went to Ğstanbul to study English at nights while working for AEG in the day. Following my military service as a receptionist I finally returned to Dalyan. In 1974 I bought my first boat and that summer started day trips for yacht customers wishing to see Dalyan, Caunus, for fresh water swimming, in the Lake of Köyceğiz. These were a great success. In the winters I worked at Royal Eagle, Hotel as a service porter, at Paddington in London to improve my English, returning to Dalyan for the summers. By 1983 I had established Sardes Travel and Yachting Agency Ltd. I had a small fleet of boats offering yacht-cruise passengers from all over the world day trips along the Dalyan River.
I have lived in big cities, I have travelled to America, Europe and Australia but Dalyan is home, my paradise, where I feel 'light'.

Abidin Kurt'un Kısa Hayat Hikayesi
Abidin Kurt, 1952 yılında Dalyan'da doğdu. O zamanlar Dalyan küçük bir köydü; elektrik, su ve yol gibi temel altyapılar yoktu. Yaşam, gaz lambası, su tulumbası ve dar tozlu yollarla sürdürülüyordu. Yiyecek ve içeceklerin başlıca kaynağı, herkesin kendi ineklerinden sağladığı süt ürünleriydi. Yani, gaz lambası ışığında darı ekmeği, çökelek peyniri ve yoğurt günlük besinlerdi. İlkokulu Dalyan'da tamamladı. 14 yaşındayken annesini ani bir apandisit patlaması sonucu kaybetti. 1966, 1967 ve 1968 yıllarında, yani 14 yaşındayken, Türk arkeologlarla birlikte Caunus Antik Kenti'nde üç yaz boyunca çalıştı. 17 yaşında İstanbul'a gitti ve AEG buzdolabı fabrikasında 3 yıl çalıştı. Bu süre zarfında akşamları Limassollu Naci'nin İngilizce dil kurslarına katıldı ve iyi derecede İngilizce öğrendi.
Daha sonra resepsiyonist olarak Lüleburgaz Ordu Evi'ne askere çağrıldı. 20 aylık askerlik döneminden sonra, 1974 yılının Temmuz ayında Dalyan'a döndü. Küçük bir tekne satın aldı ve yaz mevsimlerinde Dalyan nehir ağzına tek tük gelen yatların misafirlerini, yatlardan alıp nehir gezisi yaptırıyordu. Kış mevsimlerinde ise Caunus harabeleri yakınındaki Çandır Köyü'nde zeytin yağı çıkarıyordu. 1977'de İngiltere'ye gitti. İngilizcesini geliştirmek için Londra Paddington'da bulunan Royal Eagle Hotel'de "Service Porter" olarak 1977, 1978 ve 1979 yıllarında kış aylarında çalıştı. 1983 yılında Dalyan'da SARDES TRAVEL & YACHTING AGENCY LTD'yi kurdu. Hâlâ Ekincik ve Dalyan nehir ağzında tekneleriyle Amerika ve diğer ülkelerden gelen yelkenli ve motor yatlara nehir gezisi hizmetleri sunmaktadır.

He was modern wrestler free style in İstanbul between 1968 & 1971. He olsa did oil wrestling and down below pictures from May. 2007.

His another branch of sport he has been doing. Since 7 March 2003. He is doing shotakan do KARATE. Now he is in black belt 1 Dan. And he still doing KARATE and AYKI DO.
